My favorite software for determining current
and future propagation is W6ELProp. W6ELProp can display a propagation table
between any two points and has a batch mode which is great for contesting.
Another feature I really like is the frequency map which shows the MUF
across the world by shading a world map with various densities. W6ELProp can use either the Solar Flux or Sunspot Number. However, a better number to use is the Effective Sunspot Number (SSNe). The SSNe is an adjusted number that is more accurate than using just the Solar Flux or Sunspot Number.
